G-Retreat: for Women in Business, Leadership & Philanthropy on National Girlfriend Day Weekend!
Girlfriendism™ - a brand that was inspired by the women of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and created for women all over the world - invites women in business, leadership and philanthropy to join them for their first annual Girlfriendism™ Retreat that will be held this summer from July 30th - August 1st during the National Girlfriend Day Weekend! Inspired by the girlfriends of My Girlfriend’s Closet St. Croix - a locally owned boutique in downtown Christiansted that will celebrate its ten year anniversary alongside this annual retreat celebration - the Girlfriendism™ brand provides services for women in varying industries including fashion, fitness, business, wellness, travel and philanthropy.
According to Khnuma, Director and Founder of Girlfriendism™:
The first annual Girlfriendism™ Retreat will celebrate women in business both locally and nationally through a weekend of activities that address the whole woman - mind, body and soul! As visionaries and professionals, carving time out for ourselves and identifying opportunities to intentionally connect with other entrepreneurs can be challenging as we navigate the many hats that we wear within our respective industries, communities and families too. This retreat will create and hold space for women in business and girlfriends who support small businesses alike to experience meaningful connections in an intimate, progressive and joyful environment!’
The Girlfriendism Retreat is a collaborative event featuring a host of woman owned, locally owned and Black-owned businesses in the industries of health, wellness, beauty, fashion, leadership and philanthropy; and will host three main events throughout the weekend:
1. Women’s Health and Wellness Wake Up Workout hosted by Itiba LLC with meals provided by A Better Day Cafe;
2. Girls, We Run The World Fashion Show hosted by Urbander and highlighting fashions from Black-Owned boutiques in downtown Christiansted; and
3. Women in Business, Leadership and Philanthropy hosted by Cultured Naturals and CeCe and Juju’s Lemonades with brunch provided by Yaadie In St. Croix and Sweet Me Away Gourmet Desserts.
The entire weekend has been made possible by the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism, Bougainvillea Perfumeria, The XauSky Group, Fit4Life and SeaRenity with additional support from ‘Caribbean SunSponsors locally and abroad.
According to the Health and Wellness Keynote Speaker, Dr. Micah Mcintosh of ‘Sex, Science and Spirituality’ on St. Croix:
‘Girlfriendism is not just a brand, it truly is the heart and lifestyle of its founder, which makes us beyond proud to sponsor and speak at this love-laced and prestigious event!’; and Women In Business, Leadership and Philanthropy Guest Speaker, Sami Haiman Marrero of Urbander in Orlando, ‘The Girlfriendism Retreat is an opportunity for meaningful fellowship to exercise our leadership, af ect change and reach new heights together!’.
